Searching for Anxiety Therapy? What Your Anxiety Is Actually Trying to Tell You
Sep 10, 2026
Are you searching for anxiety therapy because the racing thoughts will not stop? Because your chest feels tight for no reason you can name? Because you are tired of being told to just breathe, and you have started to wonder if something is actually wrong with you?
You are not alone in this search. Anxiety therapy is one of the most searched terms in the world right now, and I do not think that is an accident. I think it means a great many of us are living with a nervous system that has been running on high alert for so long that we have forgotten what it feels like to simply rest inside our own bodies.
I want to offer you something in addition to what you will typically find under a search for anxiety therapy. Not instead of. In addition to. If your anxiety is severe, if it is stopping you from functioning day to day, please also work with a licensed therapist or your doctor. That kind of support matters, and I never want to stand between you and it. What I offer, through my training in Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica, is a different lens on what anxiety actually is and why it might be showing up in your life right now.
Most of us were taught to treat anxiety as a malfunction. Something wrong with the wiring. Something to medicate away, distract from, or push through with willpower. But what if anxiety is not a malfunction at all? What if it is a message, arriving from a part of you that has been trying to get your attention for a very long time?
In Spiritual Psychology, we call these the exiled parts of self. They are the pieces of you that got left behind at an earlier age, usually the age when something happened that you did not have the resources to process at the time. A parent who could not attune to you. A household where love felt conditional. A moment you had to become hyper aware of everyone else's mood just to feel safe. That hyper awareness did not go away when you grew up. It became your nervous system's default setting. It became the anxiety you are living with now.
This is why anxiety therapy that only addresses the symptom, the racing thoughts, the tight chest, the spiraling scenarios, can only go so far. You can learn every breathing technique in the world and still feel the anxiety return, because the exiled part of you underneath it has not yet been welcomed home. Symptom management has its place. I am not dismissing it. But real, lasting relief tends to come when you address what is underneath the symptom, not only the symptom itself. This is the same work I describe in what generational trauma actually is and in helping people reparent the younger parts of themselves that are still holding the original fear.
Here is where your authentic self comes back into the picture. Your authentic self is not anxious. Your authentic self is the calm, clear, soul centered eyes through which you saw the world before your core patterning took over. Anxiety is what your core patterning does when it believes it still has to protect you from a danger that is no longer actually present. The work is not to fight your anxiety or silence it. The work is to turn toward it with enough compassion to ask what it is protecting, and gently show that part of you that it is safe to stand down now.
I know this sounds different from what you expected when you searched for anxiety therapy. That is because most of what shows up under that search is built to manage anxiety from the outside in. What I am describing is healing it from the inside out, at the level of your spiritual curriculum, the pattern your soul came into this life to work through. This is the same lens I use with clients healing narcissistic abuse, attachment wounds, and trust that was broken long before the relationship you are in now, because anxiety is so often the nervous system's language for exactly those things.
In session, this looks like slowing down enough to ask your body what it is actually afraid of, rather than only managing the thought loop in your head. It looks like ThetaHealing and subconscious work to reach the belief underneath the anxious pattern, not just the pattern itself. It looks like tracing the anxiety back to the age it started, the way I do in what I call Age Stage Healing, so the part of you still living in that moment can finally exhale. None of this requires you to relive your worst memories. It requires you to finally be met in them, through soul centered eyes instead of fear.
If you are ready to understand your anxiety instead of only managing it, I would love to talk with you. Book your free soul aligned call, and we will look together at what your anxiety has actually been trying to tell you.
